Surf Lessons at Croyde Bay

Our most popular option. You'll be in a group we aim for four people per instructor. Everyone gets their own board, wetsuit and boots, all included in the price.

Sessions last around two hours. The first bit is on the beach, covering how to paddle, pop up, and read the water. Then you're in. Most people stand up in their first session. Some take a couple of goes. Either way, you'll be properly surfing, not just flopping around in the foam.

We run groups for all ages from 6 upwards. Kids go in with other kids where possible, and we pitch the coaching to suit. A session with a couple of nervous 8-year-olds looks completely different to one with three mates on a stag weekend. Same ratio, same quality, different energy.

One instructor, all yours. This is the fastest way to improve, whether you're a complete beginner who wants undivided attention or an improver trying to nail your bottom turn.

Private lessons cost £99 for one person, or £85 each if you come as a pair. You set the pace, you set the goals, and your coach tailors the whole session around you.

Worth it for anyone who's had a group lesson before and wants to take the next step. Also brilliant for couples or parents who want to learn alongside their kids without holding up a group.

We work with schools, youth groups, corporate teams, and big family groups. We're the exclusive surf school partner to Kingsley Private School in Bideford, and we run regular sessions for school groups throughout the year.

Large group bookings get the same small ratio. We just bring more instructors. Get in touch and we'll put together a session that works for your numbers, your budget, and your group's ability.

Shred Club runs four sessions a month at £25 each. It's proper coaching, not just a paddle about. Simon and the team track your progression, set you goals, and push you to surf better each time you come. Think of it like a monthly membership for people who are serious about improving but don't want to pay private lesson prices every time.

We started it because we kept seeing the same faces coming back for group lessons and not really getting past the basics. The Shred Club fixes that. It's structured, it's social, and honestly it's probably the best value surf coaching in North Devon.

Want your kids off their phones and in the water? This is how.

Turn up about 15 minutes before your session time. We'll get you kitted out with a wetsuit, boots and board, then head down to the beach together.

Your instructor will spend the first 15-20 minutes on the sand going through technique. How to lie on the board, how to paddle, how to pop up. They'll also talk about water safety, rip currents, and how to read the conditions. Then you're in the water for the rest of the session.

You don't need to bring anything except a swimsuit to wear under the wetsuit and a towel for after. Sun cream is a good idea too, even on cloudy days. We provide everything else.

After the session there's the Beach Cafe right in the car park for a coffee and a debrief. You'll probably want one.
